Tour the colonial part of Quito`s old city and visit the House of Congress, Independence Square, Government Palace, and La Compania and San Francisco churches. North of the city, visit the monument dedicated to Francisco de Orellana (European discoverer of the Amazon), with views of the valley of Tumbaco, Guapulo town and Cayambe volcano.
