Kosrae Village Eco-Lodge

The 10 spacious bungalows at Kosrae Village Eco-Lodge are built in the traditional Micronesian style with floors raised above the ground, walls constructed of locally woven reeds, and thatched roofs. Timbers are wrapped and tied throughout the bungalow, from the roomy porch to the large bathroom and garden shower.

Modern amenities, such as queen-sized beds draped in mosquito netting, ceiling fans, hot and cold running water, electricity, refrigerators and coffee makers, are tastefully added to the traditional look and construction. The entire resort is handicapped accessible.

The resident dive shop, Sleeping Lady Divers, is a 5-star PADI full-service facility that offers great range of diving classes. The facility is also equipped with Nitrox. Kosrae`s 43 miles of protected reef is a marine world full of living treasures. From the pristine hard corals to large schools of large pelagics to the small tropical reef fish and invertebrates, the mild currents at most of the sites make this a great destination for seasoned divers and novices alike.

Rainforest hikes, kayaking, surfing and birdwatching are among the many activities on Kosrae. The beautiful tropical island resort is not just for sunbathing, dining and diving. The island abounds with natural beauty and treasures that you will want to explore. Hike through the dense rainforests that cover the slopes of Kosrae`s mountains, explore the sea coast and mangrove swamps in a kayak, visit ancient Micronesian sites or World War II ruins, take your binoculars and go birdwatching or go surfing in Micronesia`s sapphire blue waters.

The award-winning Inum Restaurant has a regional reputation as one of the best in Micronesia. Specializing in local and international cuisine, the dinner menu changes nightly depending on the availability of fresh local produce, chicken and fish. In addition to fine meals and excellent service, the restaurant is a focal point for various community activities such as the cultural night on Thursdays and movie watching on Mondays. This is a wonderful opportunity to mingle with the locals. Once or twice a month a local band is invited to play on a Saturday night.
