OVERVIEW The resort was built with divers in mind and completely refurnished for $1.2 m. in 2006. All of the dive facilities and equipment storage are conveniently located within steps of the resort.
The Taro Leaf Spa was opened in 2009. The decor of the spa (with two treatment rooms, waiting and locker room, private garden with a small waterfall, one-piece stone bath) is based on island themes and all of the products use locally sourced plants. Traditional family made massage oil with local plant extracts are used for a wide range of treatments.
The restaurant is located on the main deck of the SV Mnuw, Manta Ray Bay’s own 100 year old South Seas Schooner, enjoy the fine view through panoramic windows and then let them pamper you. |

The food is inspired by Asian, Local and European recipes with generous portions which are both wholesome and delicious. Daily delights such as homemade pizza, hamburgers and cheeseburgers and fresh fish sandwiches can be found on the daily menu. Mangrove Crab and tapioca have added a tasty "local flavor" to the restaurant. And a greenhouse for growing vegetables hardly available on the island is currently under construction (March 2011).
Manta Ray Bay Resort's Stone Money Brewery Company, a 600l microbrewery, is probably the only one in the world of scuba diving. Swiss brewmaster Fredy Gull uses hops and malt imported from Germany and the Czech Republic to produce two delicious high-quality lagers: Telmar Biya, a dark lager of West Coast flavor, and Manta Gold, a European-style Pils. While the brewery is located in the lobby for everybody to see, it is on tap on board S/V Mnuw. Wireless LAN is available on Mnuw. |

ACCOMMODATION There are 35 elegant and spacious theme rooms, including 13 Standard, 17 Ocean View and 5 Deluxe Ocean View. The Ocean View rooms are located on the seaward side of the hotel, providing a nice view of the lagoon from their private balconies. The Standard rooms are located on the opposite side, overlooking the road and the hills beyond. The Deluxe Rooms have either private plunge pools, stone showers or even a private rooftop jacuzzi.
The first floor has 5 rooms with a queen size waterbed and a queen size regular bed per room. Most of the rooms on the second and third floors have two queen size regular beds per room. A few rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors have 1 king size bed per room. The Deluxe Ocean View Rooms have one king size antique bed. |
|
All rooms are air-conditioned and have ceiling fan, TV/DVD, international direct dial telephone, refrigerator (upon request), internet access, private bathroom with hot water and built-in hair dryer, as well as a private balcony/terrace with the Ocean View and Deluxe Ocean View Rooms. All rooms have built-in electronic safes. In addition, they have installed a sophisticated and highly efficient water purification and treatment system, resulting in fully potable in-room tap water. The 20,000 gallon storage tank means that the Manta Ray Bay always has 24 hour water, which is a unique bonus in the dry season on an island. |

DIVING Award winning Yap Divers is Yap's first PADI Golden Palm Resort and is adjacent to the Manta Ray Bay Hotel thus forming Yap's first PADI Gold Palm Resort.
With Yap Divers, you can be assured of clean, pure air, safe diving, and a full range of instruction available from Open Water through Divemaster. They also offer a number of specialty dive certifications for those who want to expand their formal dive training, and are home to the only place in the world where you can do the PADI certified Manta Ray Awareness Course. This makes for a perfect combination to enhance the Yap Island vacation. |

The dive traveler is offered all that he or she could ever ask for in terms of dive experiences with regularly scheduled drift dives, wall dives, cavern dives and night dives, as well as the specialty: Giant Manta dives.
Diving Yap's outer reef is a quiet, personal experience. With over 30 known dive sites and less than 100 hotel rooms on the entire Island, you are almost certain to be the only divers at your dive site. It is truly an awesome, personal experience. Very few people know (or will ever know) Yap's reefs like the staff at Yap Divers. Most dive sites in Yap were discovered and named by them.
Yap Divers also offers Nitrox on Yap as well as PADI Enriched Air Specialty or TDI Nitrox Certification Classes. For Yap, Nitrox is perfect for both extending bottom time on the manta dives as well as the added safety and comfort associated with NITROX diving. |
| PHOTO FACILITIES No need to take your cameras back to your room. The dive center is equipped with 6, locking camera bays. Each camera bay has an adjustable, magnifying lamp and locked storage compartment. And for added security, the dive center is locked each night for your added peace of mind. But, rest assured that there is almost no crime in Yap to begin with. |
