Barra Lodge is set in one of the most picturesque areas in Mozambique, with spectacular views and the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean.

Barra has secluded, unspoiled beaches, and is bordered by the Inhambane estuary on one side and the sea on the other. The lodge is nestled amongst groves of coconut trees and the warm Indian Ocean offers safe bathing all year round. Wide open, sun-drenched beaches offer endless hours of strolling pleasure.

While you relax to the sight and sound of the ocean, indulge your taste buds at the restaurant. Fresh seafood dominates the menu with prawns, calamari and fresh line fish remaining the ever-popular favorites. Enjoy your meal indoors or outdoors on the patio overlooking the pool.

The well-stocked Beach Bar is a popular gathering point attracting guests to share their day’s experiences.

Barra Lodge has 20 traditional Casitas made of thatch, brick and reeds, creating a charming atmosphere. All are a stone's throw from the beach.

All casitas have 1 double bed and 1 single bed as well as en-suite shower, toilet, hand basin. All bedding and mosquito nets are supplied and rooms are serviced daily. Tea and coffee is also available in the rooms.

Barra Lodge also offers a selection of cottages with two or three bedrooms, open plan living area, kitchen, shower and hand basin with hot and cold water and a separate toilet. The bedrooms each have 2 beds (with mosquito nets) allowing a total of 6 guests to enjoy a cottage.

This region is fast becoming world famous for its spectacular diving. The diving here in Mozambique compares with some of the best in the world and is still a relatively well-kept secret.

From the awesome sightings of manta rays, whale sharks and humpback whales to the sought after harlequin shrimp, frogfish and seahorses – there is something to please everyone.

The warm waters of the Indian Ocean are teeming with life and the reefs are pristine. There are over 1000 species of fish as well as dolphins and turtles. The list is endless; the colors of the reefs, beyond description and divers are still discovering uncharted reefs.
