OVERVIEW Manta Lodge, located at the north-eastern corner of the island of Tobago in the sleepy fishing village of Speyside, is nestled on the fringe of the Mountain Rain Forest, the oldest rainforest preserve in the Western Hemisphere.
The resort is adjacent to a soft sand beach, has a full service dive shop, freshwater swimming pool, reading nook with a multi-lingual lending library, endless hiking trails and plenty of room to relax.
The Green Moray Restaurant and Bar is the heart and soul of the Lodge and the social area where visitors, islanders and staff mix and mingle throughout the day. Try some local favorites like buljol, roti and pelau. |

ACCOMMODATION Each of the 22 guest rooms has an ocean vista, private bathroom and porch or veranda, perfect for viewing a spectacular sun rise, nearby Little Tobago, or the host of birds and butterflies flitting amongst the Lodge's flowering bushes and trees.
Eighteen Superior rooms have ocean views with French doors leading to private porches or balconies. Two Loft Rooms have a private exit that leads to their own ocean view roof deck. All rooms have private bathrooms with shower. Linens are provided including beach towels for use at the pool and on your dives. Toiletries are limited to hand soap, so please bring your own shampoo, conditioner and hair dryer. |

DIVING The best diving in Tobago is centered at Speyside where the waters are home to many species of tropical fish, sharks, turtles, and magnificent manta rays. Tobago is one of the few Caribbean destinations where mantas can be seen by divers (primarily during the spring and early summer) on a regular basis.
Tobago Dive Experience, the onsite dive operator, will arrange dive excursions or courses that will enable divers of all levels of expertise to safely share in this amazing underwater world. |

Tobago is also bathed by the influx of the Guyana current, which transports the nutrient rich waters of Venezuela's Orinoco River to the reefs lying off Tobago's shores. Waiting to consume the seemingly endless supply of nutrients is an abundance of reef fish living in one of the most breathtaking ecosystems the Caribbean has to offer. |
