Cuisine is largely influenced by their tropical surroundings, Fijian heritage and the unique flavors of the South Pacific. Meals are served in the magnificent "Vale-Ni-Kana" dining room. Built only meters from our pristine beach, this stunning complex boasts 270-degree views of the ocean and exquisitely landscaped tropical gardens.

Exotic meals provide an array of fresh fish and seafood caught by local fishermen, imported meats, salads, locally grown vegetables, tropical fruit from surrounding gardens, freshly baked breads and sumptuous desserts. To complement fine meals, a large selection of world-class Australian and New Zealand wines and French Champagnes are available.

At Matangi Island the Spa Menu offers a variety of treatments to refresh and rejuvenate in the most relaxing environment by the ocean. To further enhance your tropical spa experience, they use products from the beautiful and locally made Pure Fiji range.

In an idyllic South Pacific setting, that is as refreshing as it is charming, our nine beachfront and ocean view bungalows, three honeymoon tree houses and villa provide a harmonious balance between modern comforts and traditional Fijian island flair, to create an ambiance drenched in romance and privacy. All rooms have king size beds, air conditioning, mini bar, hammock and coffee & tea making facilities.

The 3 Oceanview Bures offer traditional Fijian in design with bamboo walls and coconut palm thatched roofs. They have a simplistic island flavor with all modern luxuries and a private veranda.

The 4 Beachfront Bures are hand-crafted by local Fijian craftsmen using wood, bamboo, lava rock and coconut palm thatch, and have been carefully designed to achieve a harmonious balance between nature and contemporary elegance and include a private veranda.

The 3 split-level Tree Houses are unique to Matangi Island. Surrounded by lush tropical foliage offering ultimate privacy and yet only steps from the beach, these rooms feature an outdoor Jacuzzi tub and outdoor lava rock shower and a private sundeck.

The two-bedroom Bure is the largest of the accommodation options. Sitting on its own private point only steps from the ocean, it is built in the same style as the spacious Beachfront Bures with 2 bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom. It is ideal for a family, couples travelling together and groups and has a large private veranda.

Matangi is the most centrally located of all Fiji's northern island resorts to the exceptional scuba diving sites that Fiji is famous for. Within a 20-mile radius of Matangi Island are countless dive sites including the world famous Great White Wall and Noel's Wall. To ensure the best diving experience, dive sites are chosen according to daily tidal movements and prevailing weather conditions. Diving at Matangi is both diverse and exciting. Numerous off-shore reefs, spectacular coral formations including multitudes of hard and soft corals and plummeting walls provide a unique habitat for a rich and vibrant marine life. Unlimited shore diving off the resort’s main beach-frontage is available to divers who prepay a minimum of three days of diving. Shore diving offers excellent macro photography opportunities.
