The city has two distinct parts; the old town with its bustling markets and the new financial center. Heuglin`s Lodge is situated in the northern suburbs in a pleasant residential area. It was named after the robin commonly sighted in this garden-filled part of the city.
Heuglin`s Lodge is a rambling house of six bedrooms set in expansive and well-groomed gardens. Three of the rooms have their own bathrooms. The house has a large dining and lounge area with a satellite television and a well-stocked bar, as well as a small pool. The two excellent chefs will tempt you with great meals. Visits to various locations of Lilongwe, including the old town market and local craft centers are available. Birdwatchers will enjoy a trip to Lilongwe Nature Sanctuary where red-throated twin spot, olive sunbird, Livingstone`s loerie and finfoot reside.
