OVERVIEW
The luxurious 112-foot Solmar V is a true four-season live-aboard that takes advantage of weather patterns to provide optimal diving year-round. She travels with a crew of 10 and a maximum of 22 divers. Two main engines and three full-time generators power the Solmar V to a top cruising speed of 11 knots.

The interior of the Solmar V is outfitted in brass, rich mahogany, granite table tops and is completely carpeted.

It is a gracious and beautiful boat. The salon comfortably seats all guests and offers a large-screen HDTV, VCR, DVD player and stereo system.

For those who like to stay connected, Solmar V has a Sea Wave communications system which will make it possible for guests to communicate via phone and email while onboard. Computer stations are available for use by guests for checking email, downloading and archiving images, and image processing using Adobe Photoshop.

ACCOMMODATION
Each mahogany-detailed stateroom features air conditioning with individual controls, a private head, sink and shower and a TV/DVD player for your enjoyment. All staterooms have top-of-the-line pillow-top mattresses and down pillows, and new carpet.

There are 5 standard cabins, which are located in the bow of the boat and 6 superior cabins located in the mid-section for better stability. The superior cabins are also a little bigger but not greatly so.

DIVING
Socorro
Solmar V journeys 250 miles south of Los Cabos into the eastern Pacific Ocean to the Revillagigedos Islands, more commonly known as the Socorro Islands, to dive with the Giant Pacific manta ray, cavort with dolphins, dodge seven different species of sharks and thrill to an occasional lucky interaction with the migrating humpback whale population. This is remote, adventure diving at its finest. Socorro Islands trips are scheduled November-May because the crew have found these months to be the best for favorable weather conditions and to encounter the giant Pacific manta.

Sea of Cortez
The Sea of Cortez is one of the youngest and most fertile seas on earth, containing over 850 species of reef fish, as well as the famous flying mobulas and an assortment of schooling pelagics and tropicals.

Solmar V has been diving the Sea of Cortez for over 25 years, and calls it home. Sea of Cortez trips are scheduled for June.

Guadalupe
August-October Solmar V is based in Ensenada, Mexico and follows the ultimate apex predator to Guadalupe Island, 180 miles offshore. This is rapidly becoming the world's best location to dive in custom-built cages with great white sharks. Because they use hookah instead of scuba tanks on these trips, you do not need to be a certified scuba diver to enjoy the rush of going eyeball to eyeball with a 16' great white shark.
