OVERVIEW
Kri Eco Resort is a simple, informal, but very comfortable dive resort in very pristine nature. Many of the guests like it for its peaceful location, natural surroundings and tropical island beauty. Sitting on the edge of mountainous Kri Island the resort is shaded by palm trees that run along a long fine white sand beach.

Wild birds awaken our guests each morning at sunrise so they will be on time for breakfast and the morning dive. We see Eclectis Parrots, Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, Hornbills, Great Billed Parrots, Brush Turkeys, Lorikeets, Kingfishers and others during the day.

Meals and drinks are served in the restaurant, a large over-water dining area with long tables, sheltered by a traditional palm thatched roof, which always offers a nice, fresh breeze. In the kitchen, coffee, tea and flavored drinks are always available for our guests. In back of the kitchen, the staff slices fresh vegetables and fruits in the open air under the shade of the trees. There are no electrical appliances, everything is made my hand.
Each meal is prepared fresh. Vegetables, fruits and fish are bought from local villagers coming to our beach with their boats. Ice boxes, supplied weekly from Sorong, contain fresh meats and can chill a beer when required.

Kri has a well, pump and running water to the kitchen, western style toilets and for filling the bath containers and rinse tanks. An Osmosis water filtering system supplies 10,000 liters of fresh water a day to Sorido and Kri Resorts.

ACCOMMODATION
Kri Eco Resort currently has 6 over-water guest bungalows. Most of the buildings contain two guest rooms and at least one sitting area. Rooms are divided by partitions with doors and window coverings that can be closed for privacy. Each room has a mattress, pillow, fan and mosquito net for bedding. Furnishings are hand-made benches or lounge chairs and tables where guests can relax, work on camera gear, talk and read.

One small over-water bungalow, located just a bit down the beach for a bit more privacy, contains only one room.

Inland on the beach are six very clean and roomy Indonesian style bathrooms (called ‘mandis’) for the guests to share.

DIVING
A pioneer in this area, Papua Diving has 16 years of diving experience in the Raja Ampat and knows the area as no other operator does. Some of their guides have close to 9,000 dives and it will be clear that the diving we offer reflects this. They can show you more locations than you can dive in many weeks and the guides can find almost anything. Papua Diving was the first to explore the islands on scuba and a lot of their knowledge has been gained by working with the local Papuan people. All of the diving staff are born and raised in the area.

Kri Eco Resort is located in the midst of gigantic reef systems encompassing virtually hundreds of dive sites with diverse topology and life which can be reached with relatively short boat rides.

From mucky shallow bays with shrimp gobies, octopus, nudibranchs and "twilight zone" critters; to lagoon channels overhung by rainforest; to rock islands undercut by the sea and covered with a kaleidoscope of tunicates and corals; to offshore reefs with raging currents supporting an unbelievable variety of colorful soft and hard corals and fish, lots and lots of large fish, the diversity of sites seems endless.
