Derawan Island Resort is on an island ringed by a white sand beach where thirty to seventy sea turtles nest nightly. The resort’s cottages sit back from the beach a bit to allow turtles personal space. Turtles lay eggs on the island, and you may witness hatchlings making it to the sea.

The floating restaurant seats 75 with superb sea view and delicious BBQ, Chinese, European, Japanese or local menu.

The resort has 27 traditional Kalimantan-style beachfront cottages with private bathrooms, terraces and air-conditioning or ceiling fans. Deluxe and VIP rooms have hot water. VIP rooms have TV, dry kitchen and family room options available.

Derawan Island is a divers` haven and offers many types of diving; walls, fringing reefs, caverns, and even a wonderful muck dive. You are likely to see big sea turtles, schooling barracudas, whitetip and leopard sharks, napoleon wrasses, cuttlefish, jacks and many many other creatures. There is a wonderful variety of hard coral around the island. Macro diving off the pier is world class, and you can find sea horses, scorpionfish, and other bizarre small marine animals.

The Derawan Resort Dive Center is located on the beach and offers facilities with reliable dive equipment rental and professional dive guides. The dive center use 3 Bauer air compressors for refilling dive tanks. Four twin engine diving boats (2 medium size boats with 85 HP engine and 2 large size boats with 115 HP engine) ferry you to the dive sites.

For professional underwater photographers, a camera room is available at the dive center with stations to recharge batteries and set up your camera.
