St. George`s Lodge, one of the world`s premier scuba diving resorts, is located on St. George`s Caye, an island only 1½ miles long and less than a one mile from the largest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere. There are only six thatched Cottages built over the water and ten Lodge Rooms in a delightful romantic island setting. Hand-crafted of exquisite local hardwoods, the main lodge contains the dining room, rosewood bar area and the ten guest rooms. All rooms have private baths, hot rainwater showers and 24-hour electricity. Power is supplied with reliable generators.
Delicious and imaginative meals featuring homemade soups, fresh-baked breads, seafood and local dishes are served three times daily. Hot coffee or tea, regular or decaf will arrive outside your door by 6:30 each morning. Health-conscious diners appreciate the fresh fruits, vegetables and low-salt recipes. |

Diving St. George`s Lodge is known for its highly experienced dive guides and instructors. Personal attention is the rule, and the staff loves to point out Belize`s underwater best. Custom-built dive boats carry a limited number of divers to the reef at least twice daily and return to the lodge between dives to rest, relax and enjoy lunch. The pace is leisurely, the boat rides short and the dives blissfully long!

There is no better place to launch your diving career than St. George`s Lodge. The resort offers complete PADI certification courses from beginning to instructor level. The students enjoy individual instruction in warm, calm water and open-water referrals and course completions are also welcome. Superb SubaPro equipment is available for rent or sale. Experienced divers delight in our abundant sea life and fabulous underwater photography opportunities. Belize has a tremendous variety of underwater inhabitants, so it is likely you will discover something new and different each time you dive. Great reviews in Sea Frontiers Magazine, The Travlin` Diver`s Chapbook, Diving off the Beaten Track, Dive Travels and Ben Davison`s In Depth consumer newsletter for scuba divers attest to the quality of the staff and the resort.
Non-divers enjoy snorkeling one the main reef, sea kayaking around the island, fishing, birding, swimming or simply relaxing in the ocean breeze. The close proximity to the mainland allows guests to go inland for day visits to experience Mayan ruins, see the Belize Zoo, hike in the rainforest or horseback ride in the Mountain Pine Ridge area |
