Indonesia with Mark Strickland on Dive Damai I |
|
Unique Itineary for Adventure Divers Choose from two different itineraries. Either Manokwari to Biak for eleven nights or Biak to Manokwari for fourteen nights.
This part of Indonesia is still a very new destination. While exploring the region this past year many of the live aboards found that the north coast of the birds head peninsula did not offer enough great diving for the distance traveled. It is an open ocean crossing and the one highlight was the turtle nesting but they have been unable to go ashore there due to the conditions. The boats have decided to eliminate that part of the trip and focus on Cenderawasih Bay. They have found some very good dive sited near Biak as well. You will still enjoy the wrecks of Manokwari and the whale sharks of Cenderawasih Bay and now with additional diving in the Biak area.
Professional Photographer Mark Strickland will be coaching photographers on composition and camera settings to help them get the most out of each underwater opportunity.

DIVING The guides are among the best in Indonesia, and constantly strive to meet your every need and exceed your expectations. Whatever your diving goals, our team will spare no effort to help you achieve them. Personalized service is our specialty, with groups limited to 3 divers per guide, allowing us to stay close and look for special creatures while you while you concentrate on your photography. This approach also gives us more time to spend with each diver, whether you are interested in photography or not. And, by keeping groups so small, you will have more special moments surrounded by marine life and less by strobes, cameras and other divers. |

PROJECT DAMAI From the very first booking Dive Damai will dedicate 1$ per person per night dedicated to the project, as well donating 50% of every picture sold from their gallery. In order to avoid problems they will have an open account so that you can see where your money is and where it goes.
Dive Damai will establish a fund to help their loyal crew when they retire, they offer them the chance to sign for it and after a period of time working with the company they will have gained access to some shares that will be dedicated exclusively to the crew ( 10%) and earned the right to get a monthly pension after retiring.
The other part of the funding will be spent in educational projects in the areas where Dive Damai works, either in conjunction with other NGO´s or alone, to make it open they will scan all the invoices of where the money goes and you all will be able to monitor the fundings at all times. One of their goals will be the training of locals as dive guides so we can offer them a job whenever we visit the area.
