About Etienne Oosthuizen
Etienne is a professional guide with an invaluable enthusiasm for wildlife photography. A born and bred Zimbabwean who grew up on a tobacco farm, he was exposed to the great outdoors from a young age with canoeing trips down the Zambezi during his school holidays. Now with more than 10 years’ experience in 5 countries and with many hours spent behind a camera, he leads Wild Frontiers photographic safaris to the wild places in Africa.
After seeing how photographic safaris have been conducted throughout Africa, there was a need to get back to grassroots and review how these were operated. Understanding that Africa needs to be interpreted by a local photographer to visiting photographers, you need a guide that both understand Africa and photography. Etienne does not join your safaris to beef up his own portfolios, what he offers is an insightful view of the continent and instruction to help you, the photographer, capture Africa in her best light.
