SCUBA DIVING

Zanzibar and Pemba are endowed with some of the best and most varied dive sites in the world with spectacular diversity of marine life. Steep wall dives, drift dives and world-class coral formations make this area a prime location for experienced divers. Largely undiscovered, you will find pristine reefs and few other divers.

Diving the clear blue ocean off the Zanzibar Archipelago can bring exhilarating sightings such as whale sharks, huge schools of barracuda and manta rays. Shoals of tropical fish cruise past the reef where nudibranchs, leaf scorpionfish, octopus and shrimp can be spotted with a keen eye. The protected Marine Park at Mafia Island is known for large pelagics who take refuge there. The visibility is variable, but normally between 60-100 ft and water temperatures average at 80F.
