Pura Vida Resort

Description:

Pura Vida - Pool 5589Opened in 2004, Pura Vida Beach & Dive Resort is a spacious property located in Dauin, 15 kms south of Dumaguete City on Negros Island. The resort is built for divers by divers and is under Swiss Management. Located directly on a sandy beach, it is a real tropical atmosphere with lots of coconut palm trees and other plants around a large swimming pool.

The Beach Restaurant above the dive center has a nice view of beach, sea and the resort and offers Asian as well as international delicacies. After diving you can enjoy a “decompression” beer or a tropical drink at the Pool Bar.

The on site Vida Spa offers a selection of massage and aromatherapy treatments as well as hand and foot reflexology.

Accommodation:

This small resort has just 23 rooms spaced around the property. The 12 Deluxe rooms offer sea and pool views with a nice terrace. An additional spacious Deluxe room is located in the garden area. Each room is fitted with air-conditioning, cable TV, a ceiling fan, and a fully-tiled bathroom with hot and cold shower.

The 10 standard Bungalows are situated inside a tropical coconut grove. They are made out of high-quality bamboo. Each spacious room with ceiling fan, a fully-tiled bathroom with hot and cold shower and a nice terrace will make you feel comfortable.

Diving:

The Sea Explorers Gold Palm 5 Star Dive Centre is on the beach at the resort. Staffed by multi-lingual PADI Instructors, the facility has ample gear storage and rinse areas and welcomes all divers back from their dives with fresh fruits.

They operate 2 native style outriggers with room for 12 divers on each and one with room for 8, as well as a speedboat for shorter trips taking a maximum of 6 divers. There is a selection of up to date and well maintained rental equipment and camera rental is available too.

The resorts close proximity to Apo Island, one of the highlights for divers in the Visayas, and the outstanding macro diving close by the resort, make divers dreams come true.

Located just in front of the resort is the Pura Vida House reef. What used to be an underwater “Sahara” has now become small oasis for marine life. This artificial reef consists of several smaller wrecks, old tires, interesting concrete blocks, and a steel pyramid where lionfish, seahorses, stingrays, snappers, and batfish are at home. Sometimes rare species like wonderpus, hairy frogfish and ghost pipe fish are also found here. This site is also suitable for night diving.
